Helga has always had a passion for creating art. As a young girl she would be sketching anything she felt a connection to, especially pets and animals. She has painted in oils, acrylic, and watercolors.
Raising her family and maintaining her career did not leave much room to pursue her love for painting. Upon retiring to the Finger Lakes she started painting again. Inspired by the beauty of the region she paints landscapes, flowers, and animals. She has taken classes and workshops in watercolor and acrylic painting from Dick Kane, Pat Weaver, Sandra Tascanini, Jean K. Stevens, George Van Hook, and others. She is a member of the Arts Center and the Penn Yan Art Guild.
Helga considers painting one of her life’s special pleasures and strives to portray this in her paintings.
