We’re sending out a great big THANK YOU to all of you for making 2009 our best year ever!
Much has happened since last spring beginning in June, when
Billsboro was voted “Best Winery” at the Smith Opera House’s annual “Medley of
Tastes.” We’ve hosted multiple parties throughout the summer, both private
and public. Our Case Club Party in June showcased our first vertical tastings
(vintages ‘06-’08) and a possible new name for our House White, (Kashong
White). Our Plein Air Painting Festival featured twice as many artists as last
year creating some beautiful interpretations of our local scenery . The
summer culminated with two Best in Class awards at the New York Wine and Food
Classic: 2008 Pinot Gris, as well as our first semi-dry wine, the 2008
Riesling. Additionally we have signed on with a new distributor out of
Rochester, NY, BDL Wines, and as a result you can now find Billsboro Wines from
Albany to Buffalo! If you don’t see Billsboro in your local liquor store,
just ask! We hope to see many of you through our doors in the next couple of
weeks as the fall colors peak and the grapes are all pressed. Cheers & Happy
Harvest!
Farewell to our Summer Staff
At Billsboro we pride ourselves on our great Tasting Room Staff. We’re sad to see a few of them go at the end of this summer, but wish them success in their newest endeavors. Travis is off to Ohio to work in a civilian job for the US Air Force; Maren to Boston for a Ameri-Corps job; Diane to London for study at Oxford; And Grace will be taking a temporary leave as she’s expecting her second son in early November. In addition we are missing Billsboro’s longest term Tasting Room member, Virginia, and we hope she will be back working with us again soon. In the meantime, come say hello to Michelle, Victor, Jenna, and Quinn!
